£4000 to be donated to Cancer Research UK

£4000 raised by Club Time Attack in aid of Cancer Research UK

Club Time Attack, that owns and operates the Time Attack Championship, Racing Hondas Championship and MSUK Drift Pro Championship is pleased to announce that its chosen charity of the 2024 season, Cancer Research UK will be gifted a minimum of £4000 as a result of a driver initiative.

At the start of the 2024 season, the club introduced a late payment scheme for any driver within the club which entered a championship round beyond the ‘soft’ cut off point, subjecting them to a mandatory £50 late payment fee. At the time a poll to all drivers within the club was made for them to select which charity should be the beneficiary of any future late payment fees and the result was to choose Cancer Research UK.  The late payment scheme was introduced by the club to begin to encourage members to organise their entries in a more timely fashion, enabling the club to focus on delivering the events just before each round, with the aim to reduce the distractions of late-comers.

The fees were in place to encourage this and the program has been highly successful in tidying up the process and at the same time, providing a great gift to a charity close to the hearts of the members and club.  In addition, the annual Gala awards dinner which takes place on 30th November is expected to raise further funds as part of a high profile raffle with a free season entry into one of the Club’s championships in 2025 the first place prize.

Andy Barnes of the Time Attack Organisation comments:

‘We are in an expansion phase at the Club to offer even more and give a high quality customer experience for our members and therefore we began to look at priorities to help our admin side become less troublesome. This late payment initiative was introduced to help the members help themselves by giving us better warning of entry and more time to plan the events without the distractions of drivers who believed it is acceptable to enter at the last moment when all preparations have been made and then require updates.

It was controversial to begin with however the teams have welcomed this, have communicated to us that we are more organised and transparent with pre-event information (than before) and the end result is a large cheque to a great charity.

On behalf of the Club and organisation, huge thanks go to the teams in working with this process and accepting that if they are to be late, their money will go to a great cause. While we are focused on keeping entry fees low for all our championships to keep cars on track and competing, this fee quickly organised the drivers priorities to take action earlier and the majority of the funds were harvested at the start of the season and tailed off’.

The Club will present a cheque for the final total raised to Cancer Research UK during the course of the gala dinner once the total for the raffle is added.

Warm welcome to Wossner Pistons

Wössner UK teams up with MSUK Drift Pro Championship in 2022.

MSUK DP organisers are excited to announce a brand-new partnership with Wössner UK, who become a championship sponsor for the first time this year. This recently established association extends to the Time Attack Championship, ensuring that the globally known manufacturer of market-leading engine components will receive high-profile representation throughout the season. The Wössner Group has been designing and manufacturing high performance pistons and con rods for cars, bikes and planes from its factory located in Weil am Rhein, Germany for more than 40 years. Its British operations took a significant step forward in 2020 when the company launched a new UK based facility. Having done so, Wössner is looking to increase its presence in the UK and sees its association with the Time Attack and Motorsport UK Drift Pro championships as a significant part of its strategy to promote its market-leading brand to competitors, engine tuners and the public as a whole.“We are delighted to welcome Wössner into the Time Attack and Drift Pro family. It’s a great fit for both campaigns”, said Championship owner Andy Barnes.“Because of our long-standing connections and profile in the motorsport and aftermarket tuning industries, we can help promote the brand to a large cross-section of the company’s target audience. We look forward to working together to help Wössner achieve its promotional goals and at the same time, increase market awareness.”Director of Wössner’s UK operation David Wheeler is pleased to support the two championships and commented:“Having established the Wössner brand in the UK, we are now looking to step things up and an association with two campaigns that have the profile of Time Attack and the Motorsport UK Drift Pro Championship will really help us get our name and products in front of a large and relevant audience. I look forward to the start of the season and what promises to be an exciting year ahead.”The sponsorship package will see the Wössner identity carried on the front and rear of all competing cars and track-side branding. The company will also enjoy significant presence at each of the event’s large and well-attended car shows, as well as the PR and media activity that goes with a marketing campaign of this status. For further information about Wössner products, visit: www.wossnerpistons.co.uk
